Burlington, VT Lighthouse. Lake Champlain is the next largest lake after the Great Lakes. It is 115 miles long, 15 miles wide and about 400 feet deep. Upstate NY and the Adirondacks borders the west and Vermont and the Green Mountains borders the east. The lake runs into Canada. The US Navy was born on LC at Whitehall NY.
